For some months, I have had a blog-style collection of articles about headline news stories on my web site.
Around 8/27/11, all the comments on all those articles mysteriously disappeared. Thousands of hours of work by me and my readers gone—for the moment.
Furthermore, all the new comments I have received since 8/27/11 are blank.
If you have a comment, please send it to me by regular email at johnreed@johntreed.com. If I appove it, I will cut and paste it into the body of the aricle in question.
That blog uses Wordpress, a form of so-called cloud computing. That means my computer functions only as a “dumb terminal” and all the pertinent software and data are at Wordpress computers.
In contrast my older and two most recent headline articles were done in Dreamweaver. They exist at the servers dedicated to my web site somewhere in Yahoo land—and in my desktop computer—and on my backup disks.

I appreciate informed, well-thought-out constructive criticism and suggestions. If there are any errors or omissions in my facts or logic, please tell me about them. If you are correct, I will fix the item in question. If you wish, I will give you credit. Where appropriate, I will apologize for the error. To date, I have been surprised at how few such corrections I have had to make.
