The BLMNFL

Posted by John T. Reed on

But I just read the list of BLM stuff the NFL is going to do this season. I think I will skip the NFL. If you also are not interested in that garbage, I urge you to skip it.
.
Rioters have gotten the attention of the NFL owners It is time that viewers also get their attention, by not viewing. If they want to cultivate BLM viewers, let them pay the price for focusing on such a tiny market segment and spitting in the face of the rest of the market. The NFL teams are worth billions. But if their viewership is just BLM supporters, they are a money losing business.
.
They need to get out of the politics and race-hustling business. and get back into entertainment and the sport of football.
.
I doubt even the BLM supporters will tune in other than to make sure BLM is written on the field and the uniforms. NFL owners do not know which side their bread is buttered on.
.
Tell them.
African-American pro athletes, or some of them, say they are entitled to use “their platform” to advance political causes that are important to them.
.
Excuse me, but the NFL, NBA and so on are not owned by the players. They are owned by the owners.
.
Furthermore, it takes two to platform. If a tree gets tackled at the one yard line, but no one is watching, did it make a sound?
.
The platform is owned by the owners but that platform has no audience if we choose not to turn on that channel.
.
In fact, we the TV audience can refuse to watch, in which case the stadiums, the player contracts, the TV rights, the merchandise rights, and so on become worthless. There seems to be great resistance to the owners making decisions on business not political reasons, but there must be a point at which the owners can no longer afford to pander to professional black victimhood fantasies, especially by black athletes who make millions of dollars per year.
.
When viewership hits that point, a new commandment will take over all sports leagues and sports channels: NO POLITICS!
.
Let us work toward that shining sports entertainment city on a hill. Turn off, tune out, and drop out.
